New Adventures

New Adventures is DDSi's on-site adult day and community program for older individuals with disabilities.

Overview

Participants come to the DDSi / New Adventures location and also get out into the community to volunteer, attend activities, visit parks, enjoy recreation, and build meaningful social and life experiences.

An on-site adult day and community program

New Adventures gives participants a place to build skills, join activities, connect with others, and take part in structured programming.

Community outings and volunteer experiences

Participants may take part in parks, splash pads, sporting events, cat cafe and PAWS volunteering, nature preserves, fishing, libraries, fire station visits, Touch-a-Truck, seasonal outings, and community volunteering.

Facility activities

Facility features and activities may include air hockey, basketball, a dance floor, outdoor area, picnic tables, crafts, visiting instructors, yoga, watercolor painting, Zumba, and other structured activities.

Daily support

Direct Support Professionals help participants take part in daily activities, community outings, and skill-building opportunities while supporting dignity, choice, and safety.

Funding
DDSi accepts Indiana Medicaid waivers, including the Community Integration and Habilitation Waiver (CIH), Family Supports Waiver (FSW), and Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver (TBI). The Health and Wellness Waiver (H&W) is coming soon.
