DDSi was started in 1989 by Allison's father and continues today through the next generation of family leadership. The organization remains focused on helping people with disabilities build independence, confidence, skills, and connection in everyday life.

DDSi offers a range of programs for people with disabilities and the families who support them. Each program has its own focus, from ABA and behavior support to in-home skill-building, community outings, therapy, and wellness support.

On-site ABA support for children with autism, focused on school readiness, communication, routines, behavior skills, and everyday expectations.

An on-site adult day and community program with skill-building, recreation, volunteering, outings, and social experiences.

DDSi participants take part in real experiences throughout the year, including parks, sporting events, volunteering, seasonal outings, fire station visits, libraries, recreation, animal-related volunteer activities, festivals, and hands-on activities.
Facility spaces for activity, connection, and skill-building.
DDSi offers spaces for recreation, movement, crafts, social activities, and structured programming. Facility features may include air hockey, basketball, a dance floor, outdoor space, picnic tables, outdoor crafts, yoga, watercolor painting, Zumba, and visiting activity instructors.
